1st Southwest Bank and Phoenix Recycling Video

Mark Thompson is the owner and founder of Phoenix Recycling, a recycling plant for rural consumer and construction waste outside Durango, Colorado. Mark started his facility on a bare concrete slab working outside with his crew in all weather conditions. As his consumer base expanded, Mark knew that he needed to upgrade to a permanent facility and sorting plant. He took his proposal to many different banks, and First Southwest Bank was the only institution to believe in the validity of his business plan and to offer him a viable loan package. Today, Phoenix Recycling is booming, thanks to an expanding housing market in Southwest Colorado. By recycling over 70% of the construction waste it picks up, Mark's business helps to ensure that Durango's expansion is sustainable and environmentally responsible.
